Clinical Psychology PHD (1287 Words)-- American Woman
Graduate School
Clinical Psychology
The XXXX provides assistance to long-term injury survivors. I found out about the program from my psychology professor, XXXX, who
taught brain and behavior. In her class, I learned which parts of the brain control each biological function, which prepared me greatly for
this program.  I also was trained in providing clinical services for the long-term head injury survivors. One of the women I worked with
suffered injuries to the prefrontal cortex from a car accident. She had short-term memory loss and could not remember word lists.
Working with her and others like her helped me to understand what working with patients really is like and how much patience is
necessary in order to provide the highest quality of care.

In my senior year of college, I became a Psi Chi member and actively participated in a research conference at XXXX. My research
included determining whether or not exposure to classical music increases long term memory retention while studying.  The results proved
that classical music did not enhance the long-term memory retention while studying, contrary to my original hypothesis. This proved to be
a valuable lesson for it showed me how vital it is to perform and test an experiment in order to validate its hypothesis.

During my last semester of college, I became part of an exchange program at the University of XXXX at Manoa. I was a regular writer for
the XXXX o XXXX newspaper as well as enrolled in a mass communications class, which required preparing a report on how the media
affects children psychologically. My professor XXXX,  introduced me to media psychology, which developed my passion in studying how
people are influenced by the media and how it shapes their perceptions.  I did a research project concerning media and its’ messages
directed toward young people. I learned how human beings have an ongoing process of communicative interaction by which we
collectively develop culturally shared meanings of objects, events, and situations.  Individuals within the culture are expected to conform to
these norms, and are socialized in manners, which constantly reinforce the beliefs, and behavior, which are prescribed and presupposed for
them. For example, children grow up with certain attitudes and beliefs about how a female and male are supposed to act, which are
embedded in books, television, and film.  This, in turn, creates perceptions of what is normal behavior.

My special areas of interest at XXXX are with Dr. XXXX focusing on child clinical psychology.  I feel my experiences with working with
many children and young adults will open up the opportunity to offer my knowledge, enthusiasm, and ability to listen to others’ with
understanding and compassion and make a positive difference in their lives. I would be delighted to participate in Bio’s study in the self-
understanding and self-perceptions of children and adults with LD. I feel this exposure would further my education on how children’s self
esteem is affected by disabilities, various handicaps, and difficulties in their lives.  My other interest encompasses getting involved in the
child media psychology field, a love for music, dance, painting, and astrology. I enjoy working with animals as they add so much joy to
our lives. I also like studying foreign languages and I am fluent in Romanian.

Psychology in general and specifically child psychology, strike me as one of the most exciting areas of research today. The mind is the
most intricate, complicated, and challenging entity to study.  My highest life’s goal is to be one of the fortunate individuals to try to unlock
the secrets and mechanics of our wonderful brain, and thus offering real help to all in need. I strongly feel my compassion, knowledge,
experience, and thirst to learn distinguish me from all other worthy candidates. Please consider my wish to become part of your prestigious
educational institution and allow me the opportunity to fulfill my life’s highest desire and dream by being able to help children and young
adults live a happier, healthier and harmonious life.
I am applying to study towards the doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology because mental health issues in society have been my passion
since high school. I am especially attracted by the idea of studying at XXXX University because of this university’s explicit and principled
dedication to having an impact on society by making a difference in the lives of individuals, couples, families, schools, organizations,
companies, and nations. I also very much appreciate XXXX’s abiding concern for diversity and internationalism.

Intellectually speaking, I am captivated by the functions of the brain and the complexities of the unconscious. I have long been an
aficionado of numerous books on psychology, dream interpretation, and mysticism—everything that has been written for the illumination of
the connection between intuition and the subconscious mind. By the tender age of thirteen, I had already developed a profound fascination
for psychology, especially Carl Jung and his interpretation of dreams. I kept a dream journal by my bed and recorded all the symbols
manifested in my subconscious that found expression in my dreams.  Learning more about my own inner struggles and repressed feelings
has helped to greatly strengthen my passion for psychology, the science of the mind, and human behavior. My own family difficulties that
made my childhood most challenging, with a father who has profound mental health issues, have helped me to understand more fully how
and why I have a fervent desire to help other children and young adults who may be dealing with a parent’s mental illness or disorder.
Thus, I am especially interested in the psychology of the family and the relationship between mental health and family interaction.

Freud said that the goal of therapy was to make the unconscious conscious.  I believe studying dreams helps unlock mysteries of the soul,
unconscious, and uncovers childhood traumas.  In addition, dreams provide the aspects of your mind that you might not access in waking
life. Recently, studies have shown that dreams form on emotional memories.  It also has been discovered that dreams early in the night tend
to deal with present situations, whereas dreams in the morning are more likely to go back to the dreamer’s early childhood.  I would like to
develop a research project that focuses on children’s’ and young adults’ dreams and demonstrate how they can heal their internal trauma
and tension.  I want to focus on Freud’s theory of how the unconscious motives in dreams and the feelings people experience as children
have an enormous impact on adult personality and behavior. I believe the more one learns to interpret one’s dreams, the more they will
come to know one’s self and understand one’s mind.

During high school, I became extensively involved in working with children with family difficulties. I started volunteering at elementary
schools and middle schools, talking with them and tutoring them with any subjects they needed help in.  In addition, I also lead a freshman
retreat to help the new students feel accustomed to the high school environment and learn more about themselves. By the time I reached
college I became Vice President of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. The duty of Vice President required me to set up a
mentoring program for a local high school. I presented topics such as leadership skills, identification of goals and dreams, effective study
skills, volunteering in the community, how to build your self-esteem, and how to utilize your creativity and think outside the box. This
program provided an outlet for all participating students to feel more optimistic and set goals for their futures, become more confident and
gain a better self-value.  In addition to working with students, I started volunteering at the XXXX  in Van Nuys.

Personal Statements of Purpose For
Undergraduate, Graduate, Medical,
Law, Dental, and Business Schools

Founded by Roberto Fostor, Ph.D.
School of Religion and Social Ethics
The University of Southern California (1995)
We are proud to be active participants in a more just, global
redistribution of academic resources. We wish to participate in the
fomentation of the kind of academic community that fully represents
all ethnic, national, or political groups that have been historically
marginalized.
Why Our Prices are So Reasonable Compared to Our Competition.
Helping people with their Personal Statement or Statement of Purpose (different phrases for the same thing) is big business on the Internet.
No one really knows for sure since it is not regulated in any way; but it is estimated that hundreds of thousands of students seek help each year
with their Statement. This is because advanced study is so central to what they want for their future, and the future of their children. A well
written Statement often results in scholarship awards of tens of thousands of dollars—in other words, it is generally a good investment for both
the long and short term, a win/win situation. As a result, there are now hundreds of services providing Personal Statement of Purpose
assistance on the Internet and all have invested huge amounts of resources in an attempt to become competitive and stay that way.

We are able to keep our prices as reasonable as possible primarily because our writing team is based in the developing world: China, India,
Bolivia, etc.  For one reason or another, family, the beach, economic living, working with a non-profit organization, etc.; all of our writers are
ex-pats with advanced degrees who choose to live primarily in the developing world. Some of our writers are activists, others social workers;
some are semi-retired. We are a team of North American (U.S. and Canadian) and British writers trained in a variety of areas including
Business, Law, Nursing, Public Administration, Education, Social Work, Engineering, and Biology.  We share in common the fact that we enjoy
helping others achieve their dreams.  It is also important to note that our writers work for less than professional writers in the US or Europe,
since we pass our developing world savings on to you--our client. And our General Manager assures you of state-of-the-art quality at the same
time that you receive maximum value for your investment..

Our prices are much more reasonable than our major competitors; www.accepted.com, for example, based in New York, charges $650.00 if
you are willing to wait, and $850.00 if you are in a hurry. Thus, we invite you to become part of a growing portion of those purchasing
assistance with their Personal Statement of Purpose on the Internet who are very glad that they turned to
www.statementsofpurpose.com to
take advantage of the great value of our full, interview based service. Most people miss out because they do not know what is important to put
into their personal statement—and what is not. And this can be expensive because universities are generally very wealthy institutions that give
away billions of dollars of scholarship money to graduate students—but only to those that have very well-written Statements. It is best to seek
professional help and no one is better at this than we are. They just charge more money.
If you are available to answer any interview questions that we might have by email, then we can almost always finish your essay
within no more than 3 days from the time that you make the payment on our web site and provide us with the information that we
need. This is one of the great advantages of our service, that we provide rapid, timely service without asking clients for a rush fee.
If you want changes made to the model essay that we send you, you must first make the indicated changes yourself. Then we will be
happy to provide a final revision at no extra charge.

We do not charge a rush fee. Rather, we struggle every day, 7 days a week, to give all of our clients the best and quickest service possible.
Our service has become quite popular since the quality of our work is very high and our prices quite reasonable as compared with most of our
competitors.  We  attend to our clients in the order in which they have paid our fee here on our web site.
Please note that our process often
takes as up to 4 days, generally at least 3 days from the time that you have made your payment and finished submitting the
information that you want taken into consideration.
After making the payment, if you think of additional information that you would like to
include in your statement and share it with us, please do so in an email message so that we will have that text to add to your file.

We generally use
www.PayPal.com  for your security and convenience. All that you need to do is fill out our Online Interview Form with
sufficient detail and be sure to submit the information by clicking on the "Send Feedback" button. Sending us a resume or CV is important if
you have one; and
a rough draft is also very helpful as it helps to retain the authenticity of your unique voice. Please note that you do
not need to register or open an account with PayPal or become a member of the service, all you need to do is follow the link next to the credit
card icons that says 'continue' to pay with your credit or debit card. Our web site is set up so that you can make your payment either before or
after you fill out our
Online Interview Form. You can send supporting documents to our email at
