Generate Your Personal Statement of Purpose
for Law School:
M.S., J.D., Ph.D.
Interview Form
We edit/write dozens of Personal Statements of Purpose for Law School Programs each month and it is
something that we have gotten very good at. We have come to enjoy it very much, and it is something that
we take very seriously. Dr. Edinger has spent many years investigating what makes a Statement for
Graduate Study as effective as possible. Most recently, I has been reviewing this issue again with special
attention to  the area of Law. Law schools are looking for specific qualities, interests, and characteristics
that we will emphasize in your essay.
All I need is a few  paragraphs of rough essay telling me who you
are and why you want to go to Law School. Often, I respond to the
specific questions asked by the specific program to which you are
applying. Most clients fill out my
fillable form interview first. A
resume is also very helpful. In addition, I send you several interview
questions by email or Yahoo Messenger, and I use this material as
building blocks to write your essay. I also like to visit the web site of
the program that you are applying to so that your essay is correctly
tailored to the particular program and university in question. It is of
central importance that you accurately describe your dreams and
visions for what you would most like to become professionally in the
future. My Yahoo Messenger ID is StatementsofPurpose.

Let's work together as a team to create a masterpiece!
Multiple Drafts to Different Schools
At StatementsofPurpose.com, I work with many clients who are applying to more than one school. I have worked with clients who have applied to as many as 12 different graduate departments
at the same time. Those applying to around 6 or 7 schools are much more common. The other magic number appears to be three schools. And, one has to deal with the fact that, the more
schools that you apply to, the more one finds oneself stretching the truth a bit, telling each school, more or less, that this particular program is one's first choice, at least implying that this is
the case. This part is very important and the wording here needs to be subtle. I suggest saying something like: "I am convinced that X department at Y University is the best match for the
directions of my research interests and my very high level of motivation." I also recommend that you include one to three sentences detailing which professors you especially look forward to
studying under.
When you take into consideration the fact that I do each additional draft at only $20.00 each, and that I do a review not only of the department but also the faculty and their individual research
interests, my price is very economical and represents a very sound investment in your future.
No matter how many schools that you apply to, you MUST tailor each essay to each program. A general essay simply will not do. This is why my service of tailoring each draft to that
particular department is of such critical importance.
Writing Sample
In addition to a given university's application requirements, each department often has special or specific requirements, and this sometimes includes a writing sample from all applicants to
the graduate program. The admissions committees are looking for a Senior Paper, Honors or Master's Thesis, published paper, or comparable written work giving evidence of both writing
ability and the capacity for research, analysis, and original thought at the graduate level, and demonstrating the ability to use theory in relation to evidence. Papers originally written in a
language other than English must be submitted in English translation. Other things being equal, a short, effectively written sample is preferable to a longer sample. If you decide to submit a
longer sample, you should indicate which 10-12 pages should be reviewed by the admissions committee.

I would be happy to review and edit your writing sample as well as helping you with your Statement.
The two should be carefully coordinated and this can be one of the most important
features of my service
The Personal Statement of Purpose

The Personal Statement or Statement of Purpose is the single most important part of your application. While information on your past work is important, it is only relevant insofar as it
helps the admissions committee to better understand and appreciate why you want to focus on the problems that currently interest you. In other words, the admissions committee is primarily
concerned with learning about your current and future research interests and how they coincide, in other words, how the research that you have already done has prepared you for the
research that you want to do in the future.

A shorter Statement of Purpose or Personal Statement that is clearly written is generally better than a longer one. A Statement longer than one to three pages of normal type and normal
margin is generally considered less favorable than the recommended statement of shorter length.
A successful personal statement is a literate, elegantly written essay in which the student highlights her strong preparation for her intended area of study, articulates her planned area of
study and her goals after completing this study, and demonstrates her facility with current theory and practice in this area.

In other words, why do you want to go to Law School? How have you prepared for graduate study thus far? What will you study when you are there? What theories and methods do you find
most congenial in terms of your area of study? With whom do you want to study, and why? Name the scholars you've found most inspirational or influential. You must state your reasons for
wanting to attend THAT particular graduate program.  And finally, what do you plan to do with this degree once you earn it?
I am proud to announce that the index page for this web site,  www.statementsofpurpose.com, now
has a Google Page Rank of 3 and it is anticipated that it will increase over the next several months
as I am in the middle of a very successful campaign to exchange links with other more or less
relevant sites. If you would be interested in exchanging links, then I am interested in forming a
partnership with you, no gambling, pornography, or pharmacy. Please feel free to link to my site
first and then notify me so that I can link back to you right away. I am in a campaign to trade links
with hundreds of web sites and I am asking for you to place a reciprocal link to one of the web
pages that I have that is most relevant to the themes found on your site. We just need to decide
which of the page themes are the most compatible with the themes of your web site, so that links
will be as relevant and, therefore, as valuable as possible.

Here, at
www.LawGrad.org, I am interested in trading links with web sites that have some
relevance to Business School. All that you need to do is copy the code below highlighted in white,
paste it into your links page, and send me the URL where the link can be seen.

I have a Ph.D from the University of Southern California in Religion and Social Ethics and a Master's degree in the same field from Indiana University. I also attended the
University of Illinois for one year where I taught in the Intensive English Institute. The photo on the right is of me at a party with some of my students (in the black T-shirt).
The following school year, I had the privilege of teaching in the Department of English Philology at the University of Barcelona in Spain. I have also taught at the University of
Southern California, Indiana University, and the National Universities of El Salvador and Nicaragua. I taught Business English at the Seoul National University of Technology
and Shin Heung College in South Korea (1997-98). For the last decade, in addition to helping clients with their Personal Statements of Purpose, I have lived and worked in
Central America, mostly Guatemala. These days, I dream in Spanish. Yet, I did not learn the first word of Spanish until my third year of graduate school. This illustrates how
graduate school can radically shape your life in patterns that you cannot forsee.
Space is limited in Law School and some students are turned away primarily on the basis of a weak
essay. Your competition often uses professional help and this is especially true of Law School
applicants. Do you want to be one of those turned away because their essay is better than yours?
I develop a special focus with my service on character, creativity, and
contribution to society. I think that it is important to portray yourself
as a diverse individual with cosmopolitan interests, a deep
appreciation for diversity, and profound respect for human pain and
suffering. Those students who have creative ideas concerning the
area in which they would like to specialize and for their long term
goals or plans, simply have an edge. And those students who
demonstrate that they are caring people, sociable, agreeable, and
team players, also have an edge. Character is especially important for
Law School. You need to write an eloquent essay that successfully
conveys to the admissions committee the assets, gifts, and relevant
experience that you have had, so that they are convinced that you are
a competitive candidate for admission. I help develop the material
that you submit into the kind of essay where admissions committee
members feel like they already know you a little bit and look forward
to meeting you in person and working with you in their program.
Your Strategic Investment
The Statement of Purpose or Personal Statement is enormously important since it serves as a basis for admissions committees to choose between otherwise equally qualified applicants. My
clients and I work together as a team to produce the most effective Statement possible. Usually, if my clients have a resume, they send it to me. They also tell my why they want to study in
that particular field. I work with the rough draft that the client has written or, usually, submitted through my fillable form, using the information like building blocks, organizing and
rewriting it to be as effective as possible. As stated above, I need at least a very rough couple of paragraphs that provide me with basic information. Then I interview you by email and/or Yahoo
Messenger to the extent to which it is necessary, asking you relevant questions. You need to tell the review committee why you want to attend their program at that particular university.
Often, there is a combination of factors involved, the quality and the special focus of the program, as well as its location. Local area resources are sometimes very important. Many applicants,
for example, are already well established in the area where they apply to go to school.

You are competing against numerous other candidates; this is especially true with respect to financial aid. What you have to do, therefore, is convince the committee that for one reason or
another you deserve the position more than other candidates. Include in your rough draft anything that you think will help to bolster your argument that you are someone with an exceptional
moral/social character: professional experience, extracurricular activities, especially volunteer work, even hobbies. The other way to look at this is that the committee is searching for people
that they would like to have in their department, pleasant, interesting people. I believe strongly that they also like people who are generally interested in the welfare of others.

Graduate schools are very tied to numbers; your exam scores are the single most important factor, because they represent objective evidence of your qualifications. This is one of the reasons
why it is a good idea, in most cases, to apply to more than one school, usually at least three, and schools with a varied range of selectiveness. Thus, if you do not get accepted at your first or
second choice, at least you were accepted somewhere. The committee has to choose between many students with more or less good scores and this is where the Personal Statement comes in: it
makes the final difference. When forced to choose between two well qualified applicants with very similar exam scores, the committee will choose the student that they think has the most
creative ideas because they will see that student as most deserving of the opportunity. If your grades or exam scores are low, you should explain why (sickness, employment, etc.) and this is
done in your Personal Statement of Purpose.
Your Guarantee
The most important guarantee that you have that my service is 100% reliable, that I will be there for you to do all that I can to help you through this process in a timely fashion, is the fact that
I depend heavily on word of mouth recommendations to get additional clients. Many of my clients have been recommended to me by a friend or associate. People who are in the process of
applying to graduate school, generally speaking, also have friends who are more or less at the same point in their career development, your colleagues, people who you are graduating with
from your undergraduate program. If you are pleased with my service, then you may recommend me to your friends. Please rest assured that I will work to the full extent of my ability to make
your application as effective as possible. I am the only person providing this service who demonstrates his/her ability to you by writing the first paragraph of your Personal Statement of
Purpose free of charge and at no obligation. And I will be there for you throughout the process, to advise you and answer any questions that you might have concerning your application. Send
me anything and everything that you think might be helpful. I will look it all over, write the first paragraph, and then send you a bill. When you pay the bill, I will finish your Statement(s). It
is of critical importance that you let me know right away how long the Statement(s) should be since different departments have different length requirements.
"Wow, this is a powerful essay.  Not only will this help me with my application, but it will set the standard of quality, reflection,
and consciousness I aspire to!  Thank you Dr. Edinger!
Amazing!!! That's what I got to say.  It is incredible and you pretty much put everything I had in mind of writing, on paper.  I like
the way you combined and included my travels and linguistic abilities in the statement.  It's EXCELLENT ! I even had one of my
good friends read it, and they said the same thing.  I guess you have a passion for writing.
Recent Testimonies of
very pleased clients that
illustrate what I struggle
to do with each one.
I do not charge a rush fee. Rather, I struggle every day, 7 days a week, to give all of my clients the best and quickest service possible. My service has become quite popular
since the quality of my work is very high and my prices quite reasonable as compared with most of my competitors. As a result, along with the fact that I am a one-man show
and do all of the work myself from start to finish, I am able to provide prompt attention only to those clients who have already paid for my services. I almost always have a
backlog of well over one week for responding to those interested parties who have not yet paid my fee. This is especially true during my busiest months of the year
(September through March). In short, I attend to my clients in the order in which they have paid my fee here on my web site. After you have made your payment you will be
redirected to my thank you page, where you will be invited to make a note of my cell phone number so that you can get in touch with me with any further questions that you
might have. Please do not try to give me information about yourself that is relevant for your Statement over the phone since I need this in text form in order to include in your
Statement. But you can feel free to call me to verify when I think that I will be able to send the draft for your review, for example. After making the payment, if you think of
additional information that you would like to include in your statement and share it with me, please do so in an email message so that I will have that text to add to your file.

If your limit is in pages rather than number of words, the font can sometimes be reduced to 11 rather than 12 unless the directions specify 12. In a similar way, in some cases,
the spacing can be reduced if necessary to 1.5 rather than double, again, unless specified otherwise (at no extra charge). I will let you know if I think this is advisable in your
case. I use
www.paypal.com. If you pay now, and you are available tomorrow to answer my questions by email, then I can almost always complete your Personal Statement
of Purpose within 3 days from the time that you pay online, perhaps even sooner, just fill out the form with sufficient detail, and be sure to submit the information by clicking
on the "Send Feedback" button. Sending me a resume or CV is also very helpful. Please note that you do not need to register or open an account with paypal or become a
member of the service, all you need to do is follow the link next to the credit card icons that says 'continue' to pay with your credit card.
Many programs want you to respond to specific questions. Please make sure that you send me these questions, to my email. I
will add them to your file and be certain to respond to these specific questions when I prepare your Statement.

Otherwise, you must pay for the revision.

Help With Your Writing Sample Too!
Our service is especially useful for those clients who are applying to several schools since we research the client's programs on their behalf, on both university and
department web sites, so as to tell the admissions committee why you are especially compatible with that particular program, and this is often the key to success. If
you apply to 10 schools,  for example, we can provide you with 9 additional drafts for as little as $40.00 per draft (for programs in the same discipline), each
tailored to a specific program ($80.00 for re-wites for another discipline). This could be an especially important, strategic investment on your part. Please be sure to
confirm the precise length limit for each of the schools to which you are applying, in either words or pages and also spacing.  In some cases, we end up writing drafts
of several different lengths, most frequently 500, 750, 1000, 1500 or 2000 words. The rapid (no rush charge) and extremely high quality of our service is an
opportunity that we hope you will tell your friends and colleagues about, as we depend on word of word-of-mouth recommendation for finding additional clients.
