I am an independent scholar of War and Peace, as well as
Women's Issues, on ethical, political, economic levels,
etc. I have a special interest in racial and ethnic affairs,
especially Latin America and the Middle East:
Afghanistan,
Pakistan, Iraq, and the Islamic World and
Middle East in general; my own academic work is with
LatinAmerica. Please, write me today so that we can
begin a dialogue concerning how we could work together
for change. This change must begin with us and we must
struggle to make our contribution:
A group of California women strip off their clothes and spell out 'PEACE' with their
naked bodies in protest of America's plans for war against Iraq
.
I am are convinced that women (with or without clothes) have a special role to play
in waging peace and we seek to facilitate the contribution of women to waging
peace on the Internet.

We are now in a deep quagmire in Iraq and we do  not belong in Saudi Arabia either.
The military presence of the U.S. represents an affront to Islam and an insult to the
dignity of Arabs and other Middle Easterners. The motivation behind the insurgency
is not difficult to understand. If the United States where conquered, for example,
especially by foreigners who were seen as desecrating the U.S.-majority religion of
Christians, not to mention its Jews, there would also be an insurgency in the U.S.
This is not going away.

It is getting worse.
The peace movement is all of our responsibility, especially
those of us who pay taxes to governments that are waging war
on innocent peoples. The movement depends on people of
good will from all over the world to join. This must be a global
anti-war struggle, as indeed it is. And it is a struggle which will
last for a long time, unfortunately leaving deep historical scars,
the ramifications of which it is most difficult to foresee. We
must struggle in the name of humanity to put a stop to war and
it is imperative that when we have the opportunity to address
the issue of war and peace in our world today, in any kind of
public forum, that we do so. Here, I am asking those who visit
my web site to think about contributing to the peace movement
by writing an article, a term paper, something on the subject of
peace that will make a small contribution to helping us to better
understand how we might go about calming the winds of war
before we find ourselves in a fully blown Third World War.
Just as when we failed to resolve the conflict in Spain in the
1930s, ultimately leading to the unbridled holocaust of global
fascism, we may indeed fail again to seek peaceful settlements
with dignity and justice for all. We are at a most critical
juncture in history in a world again on the brink of major
disaster that could encompass increasingly large sections of the
globe. Pakistan and numerous other critical countries are
already becoming dangerously destabilized. We ask for your
help: think about peace; write about peace.
