I am an independent academic tutor who helps Latino students with their academic work. And I also help with the development of tourist materials in English, especially for Latin America. I have a special interest in helping my clients with their applications to graduate school and graduate students with the critical development of their Master's Thesis or Ph.D. Dissertations. I edit articles for publication, brochures and flyers for tourism in Latin America. I have helped many Latinos and Latinas with a broad variety of projects, from small essays to doctoral dissertations. I hope that you will consider allowing me to be of some assistance to you as well. I perform reconstructive editing as well as surface editing to correct only grammatical errors and simple word choices. While I do occasionally work in Spanish, the overwhelming majority of the projects that I work on are in English.
I have spent over half of the last 20 years in Central America and Mexico. I am a historian of the region and published (in Spanish) by the Fifth Congress of Central American History. I live on lake Atitlán in Guatemala surrounded by indigenous villages named after the twelve apostles. I love Central America, and I feel that I am an exceptionally strong candidate for someone who shares my love for all things Latino; someone who is in need of a good editor, someone to assist them with their academic project.
I have worked as a full time editor and ghostwriter for the last eleven years. My own research has carried a very broad focus on the history of politics and ethics in the development of Mexico and Central America, especially the politics of gender affairs; men, women, the relationship between public and private spheres. I am also a historian of the Cold War and Central America was probably the most famous final chapter of that conflict. I am especially concerned with sustainable development in Latin America, and would especially appreciate the opportunity to assist those who are working in this area.
I am a scholar who bridges two wars: the Cold War, especially as it took place in Latin America, and the new war, between what we might call radical/anti-imperialist Islam, on the one hand, and the powers allied with the United States on the other. I place this photo of myself with an M-60 U.S.-made machine gun (the rebels in all likelihood stole it from the army) on my web site to illustrate one of the principal differences for me between these two epochs that my adult life has spanned. During the Cold War, I was personally allied with what was generally referred to as the political left. In this new war, I do not choose sides; I am a mere commentator. Yet, I see the current wars in the Middle East, especially Iraq and to a lesser extent Afghanistan and Pakistan, as very much a new, most important episode of North American arrogance, and that causes me to often reflect on the agony endured by Latin America at the hands of United States domination, a domination which at times amounted to genocide. In short, I am generally very critical of hard line U.S. stances that result in military intervention. They have not worked in the past to promote the causes of human justice and do not give much evidence of doing so now.

In the photo above, I am holding the big gun in El Salvador, Chalatenango, in July of 1992. I was interviewing these young rebels for my doctoral dissertation. It was their suggestion to take this picture of me with the M-60. They were kind of bored, with little to do but play ‘futbol’ and sit around waiting to turn their guns into the U.N. I am proud of the picture. In the picture I was 34. Now I am 49.
I make about $20.00 an hour after my advertising and web site expenses. I ask for my clients to make a payment for 5 hours, for the first installment of my labor, $100.00. I prefer to work on your behalf in this way in manageable installments, after I send the work to you highlighted for your easy review. I accept payments on www.paypal.com. This is the fastest and safest way to pay for goods and services online.
